Alexander Meyer, MD
I grew up in Wayne, New Jersey a suburb outside of New York City. I come from a family of doctors including my father, grandfather, brother and sister. I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a doctor. I finished Cornell University in upstate New York in 3 years. I graduated from New York University Medical Center with honors. (Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society)
When I heard about the Ventura County Medical Center Family Practice Residency Program, I knew I was destined to come here. I graduated from residency and was board-certified in family practice in 2001. What drew me most to family practice is that it is arguably the most difficult specialty in that the goal is to know everything.
In 2003 I decided to make Santa Paula, California my home. I boat out to the Channel Islands as much as possible to spend the day fishing, doing different water activities and relaxing. I enjoy river rafting, kayaking, hiking and camping. In my quiet time I especially enjoy painting, drawing and photography.
